Massage Therapy Support for Neck Pain in Downtown Vancouver
Neck pain may develop with muscle tension, prolonged positions, activity changes, stress, sleep disruption or injury. It can also be linked with headaches, shoulder discomfort or symptoms into the arms. An RMT can assess within massage-therapy scope and provide supportive care when it is appropriate.
Massage therapy does not diagnose the cause of neck pain, treat a spinal injury, or replace medical care. Your RMT will discuss symptoms, health history and consent, then adjust pressure and positioning to your comfort.
How Massage May Help
Treatment may focus on the neck, shoulders, upper back, chest, scalp or jaw-related muscle tension. An RMT may also discuss workload, movement variety and referral options. The aim is to support comfort and function, not to promise a cure.
Red Flags
Call 911 for neck pain with chest pain, shortness of breath or other heart-attack symptoms, or for signs of spinal injury after trauma. Seek urgent assessment for new or worsening arm/leg weakness, numbness, severe pain after an accident, loss of bladder or bowel control, fever, unexplained weight loss, cancer history with new neck pain, or pain that repeatedly wakes you from sleep.

FAQs
Can massage help neck pain?
It may help when muscle tension contributes to symptoms. An RMT will determine whether massage is appropriate and may recommend other assessment when needed.
Is it safe to book after a car accident?
Get assessed first if symptoms are new, severe or include neurological changes. Do not book standard massage instead of an appropriate post-accident process.
