Massage Therapy Support for Back Pain in Downtown Vancouver
Back pain is common and can be influenced by activity, work demands, sleep, stress, muscle tension, injury and many other factors. The location and pattern of symptoms matter. Everest RMTs provide massage therapy that may support comfort when soft-tissue tension is part of the presentation.
Massage does not diagnose disc, joint, nerve, kidney or other medical conditions; it does not replace urgent assessment and does not promise to resolve every type of back pain. Your RMT will ask about your symptoms, history and goals before suggesting a treatment approach.
What an RMT May Address
Where appropriate, massage may focus on the back, hips, glutes, legs and related areas of tension. Pressure and positioning can be adapted for comfort. Some patients may also benefit from assessment by a physician, physiotherapist or another qualified provider.
When to Seek Medical Care
Seek urgent medical assessment for back pain with new weakness, numbness around the groin/saddle area, bladder or bowel changes, fever, severe pain after trauma, unexplained weight loss, known cancer history, abdominal symptoms, or rapidly worsening pain. Book medical assessment before massage when pain is severe, unusual or not improving.
