Massage Therapy Support for Whiplash in Downtown Vancouver
Whiplash is a term often used for neck symptoms after a sudden movement or collision. It can involve neck pain, stiffness, headache, shoulder discomfort, dizziness or other symptoms. The right next step depends on the mechanism of injury, timing, symptoms and any medical assessment already completed.
Everest RMTs may provide supportive care for muscle tension and comfort once massage is appropriate. Massage does not rule out a fracture, concussion, spinal injury or other condition; it is not a substitute for medical assessment after a collision or significant trauma.
How Massage May Support Recovery
After appropriate assessment, an RMT may use gentle, symptom-guided work to the neck, shoulders, upper back and related soft tissues. Treatment should be adjusted to your tolerance, and it should never push through neurological symptoms or worsening pain.
When Medical Assessment Comes First
Seek emergency care after injury if there is severe neck or back pain, inability to move part of the body, weakness, numbness, tingling, loss of consciousness, confusion, repeated vomiting, severe headache, balance or vision changes, chest pain or shortness of breath. Discuss new or worsening symptoms with a physician before treatment.
ICBC Note
Do not assume a standard appointment can be billed to ICBC. Eligibility, claim details, treatment timing and billing process must be confirmed with Everest before booking. Have your claim number and accident details available.
